Eaton Press Release

Michael Breed and David Leadbetter Give Back

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. …Michael Breed, the host of Golf Channel’s “The Golf Fix” and David Leadbetter, one of the world’s top golf instructors are Golf Pride Brand Ambassadors and share Eaton’s philosophy of community involvement.

On May 5th, Michael Breed participated in a very special event in Newtown, Connecticut. Unfortunately, many of us became aware of Newtown because of the tragic shootings last December which claimed 26 lives at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Breed helped organize an Appreciation Day to celebrate the First Responders who secured the school and dealt with the aftermath of this horrific event. He was onsite to host a clinic, golf and lunch for the Responders, many of whom have left their job as a result of the severe emotional stress caused by what they witnessed inside the school. Golf Pride’s Marty Burke was also onsite to conduct a Demo Day for this very special, private event celebrating the First Responders of Sand Hook Elemantary School.

In the fall of 2013 David Leadbetter will be hosting the inaugural “Leadbetter Skins for Healthier Skin” fundraiser at The Concession Golf Club in Florida. This event will benefit the Sun SafeTee Program, the leading non-profit organization in the golf community designed at providing sun protection and skin cancer prevention education. Skin Cancer is a growing issue that will affect 1 in 5 Americans, and golfers are at higher risk due to the prolonged exposure to the sun during a round of golf. Education and skin screenings are the best prevention, and this inaugural event will raise funds to increase both. Golf Pride will be on-site as a sponsor and Golf Pride’s Charlie Fisher will be conducting a Demo Day for participants.

Golf Pride is proud to be a partner in these great events and thanks Michael and David for sharing the Eaton philosophy of community involvement.
