Golf Pride® aims to further strengthen our brand and product portfolio with the assistance of a passionate Associate Marketing Manager – Global Retail. This position is based at our Global Innovation Center in Pinehurst, NC. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Position Overview:

As the only connection a golfer has to their club, Golf Pride is on a mission to transform that connection (grips) from handles into performance equipment. This key position will lead channel marketing activities at key global golf retailers and regional green grass facilities. Key activities for the position include leading merchandising, promotional strategy and execution, co-op activities, new product introductions with customers, and shopper marketing programming.

Channel Marketing is an essential part of our integrated marketing approach. This role will serve as the subject matter expert, possessing and sharing a deep understanding of channel marketing in a consumer driven business, while co-developing go-to-market plans in collaboration with key customers to drive sales for our customers and our brand.

The ideal candidate is passionate about consumer shopping experience, brand building and pragmatic approaches to strengthening a business, a self-starter with a strategic mind-set and proven executional expertise gained with a sports brand, CPG, or comparable industry, while having a passion for the game of golf.

In this function you will:

  • Develop and lead key strategic consumer shopping experience roadmaps including merchandising, POS signage, POGs, assortment, and digital.
  • Lead gap analysis studies to identify and develop opportunities to grow Golf Pride’s business with the customer via new product, assortment, merchandising, cross selling, and promotions. Lead scoping and business case development.
  • Brief customer-specific programs and customized national program executions to the Marketing and Creative teams and lead alignment and approvals for Instore POS material, endcap/ side-caps, shippers/ PDQs, circulars, print advertising.
  • Develop and maintain accurate channel marketing plans and budgets that ensure the timely implementation of merchandising programs and promotional programs for new product launches and store resets.
  • Provide category management expertise that is driven from shopper insights and best practices for key retailers to grow the re-gripping category.
  • Oversee, define and develop annual promotional plans that drive category and brand objectives, including developing promotions, manage promotional P&L, tracking and auditing.
  • Develop competitive assessment to understand how competition is placed across various retailers.
  • Ensure sales growth through robust merchandising programs, while utilizing performance metrics and analytics to gauge program effectiveness and make adjustments to future proposals.
  • Support in the creation of the marketing calendar for the retailer and implementation of it, including, but not limited to, agency briefings, supervision of production timelines, and budget management.
  • Build relationships with the customer’s marketing organization, Golf Pride sales, and marketing organization to develop actionable insights into an aligned vision, go-to-market strategy, key initiatives and marketing activities.
  • Coordinate the development of customer-specific display programs end-to-end: Sales alignment, set-up, participate as the Voice of the Customer in artwork briefing, Coordinate and report sales tracking.
  • Work closely with Product Marketing and Brand Marketing to support on-going priorities, including internal communication process, product presentations, trade shows, research and competitive intelligence.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer/shopper marketing experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of brand marketing experience in consumer products (CPG/FMG, Sports Industry Management, or Durable Goods).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience managing customer marketing campaigns across traditional, digital, social, and in-store.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of retail or visual merchandising experience (Display/Fixtures and POS Ideation).
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business and Marketing, from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of product marketing experience at consumer product goods company, retailer or experience in sports.
  • Track record of launching new products within a consumer brand.
  • Knowledge of golf industry.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of managing integrated customer/shopper marketing programs.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of retail or visual merchandising experience.
