Golf Pride Is Most Trusted Grip Brand by a Wide Margin at 2017 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Division I Golf Championships

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. … Eaton announced today that its Golf Pride Grips Division was the most used grip brand at both the 2017 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Division I Championships. By the numbers, 150 of 156 players (96%) competing in this year’s NCAA Men’s Golf Championship at Rich Harvest Farms trusted their games to Golf Pride swing grips, a level of usage greater than any other equipment brand in golf.  Of those 150 players using Golf Pride, 64 relied on Golf Pride’s MCC model grips.

At the 2017 NCAA Women’s Division I Golf Championship, 87% of the field chose Golf Pride, with 59 players in total using the brand’s popular MCC model grips. The MCC is designed to offer two distinct performance advantages to each of a player’s hands.  Engineered with high performance rubber in the lower hand, the grip provides enhanced feel and responsiveness.  Brushed cotton technology (BCT®) cord in the upper hand offers moisture management and improved traction.

“We congratulate both the Oklahoma Sooners and the Arizona State Sun Devils, on their thrilling victories respectively in the 2017 Men’s and Women’s Division I Championships,” said Brandon Sowell, global sales and marketing director for Golf Pride. “We are honored that so many future Tour pros chose Golf Pride when representing their schools on the biggest stage of the year, and we were very excited to see that the Sooners’ championship clinching putt was actually made using one of our TOUR SNSR putter grips.”

Capping off a banner two weeks for the #1 grip in golf, both the NCAA Men’s and Women’s 2017 Individual Champions also had Golf Pride in their bags.  The Women’s Champion used the aforementioned MCC model grips, while the Men’s victor chose Golf Pride’s Tour Velvet Cord model.
